As an intern at 94DEV...

I know I am a very good reader💪, but not even sure that I would be a normal writer. I’ve had a big fear that my writings would be a boredom to the readers. Your feedback as readers might help me know what my writing skills are up to. To be honest, the content provided me the courage to post my first blog. And this blog is purely a result of my inspiration from 94DEV . I think this blog would provide an insight into the overall training I received from 94DEV and hope it would be useful to someone on a similar path.
I joined 94DEV on the 5th of October 2020 as an intern. I found the availability of this internship offer via LinkedIn (thanks to LinkedIn). I had to face three rounds of interviews: a task-oriented session, a screening session, and a trial day work session before being selected there. As a fresher, I had never participated in an interview before. The first session was a little easier and I had confidence in it😎. The founder himself conducted the screening session. According to my fantasy, the interviewers are often rough and tough people😨. I thought my BP level was at its peak at that time (lol)😉. When the screening started to take place I just realized that they were all my fantasy and not the reality😇. The interviewer was so friendly, so I was able to answer the questions without much tension or fear. And then during the trial-day work session, I got to know the other 94DEV team as well. They were so helpful so that I didn't feel that they were testing me. I was really enjoying the session. I do believe in 1st impression. The 1st impression of this institute was the best and still is the best.
The first one and half months were really a training period where we had more learning sessions and were given tasks based on those sessions. Usually, Mr.Naseef conducted the learning sessions. Basically, I was a fresher-er with just about skilled enough to build some CRUD applications with MySQL, and some basic HTML, CSS, and JS. I did not know what APIs were and I just knew Amazon(AWS) as an e-commerce site😂. Therefore I had many things to learn from him - a lot of debugging skills, programming techniques, adaptability to new trends in the field, etc. This period was an eye-opening period for me to realize that book knowledge is nothing when it comes to building actual solutions. At this point, I have to thank the founder of 94DEV Mr.Naseef for being a good leader, mentor, and also a role model. I am thankful that I got a chance to be trained by him.

After this period I was given work-oriented tasks. I was not considered as an intern doing a silly job. Instead, I was challenged and exposed to real business problems. Still, we have learning sessions every now and then, but they are a bit different from the earlier ones. Earlier ones were only for the interns but for these sessions, the whole 94DEV team joined and these sessions helped us share our knowledge. Moreover, anyone from the team could conduct a session on any techy thing related to the field. These sessions encourage the team to learn new techs, trends and also provide self-confidence. I value the techniques and skills that were shared by the other team members as well.
The location of 94DEV was the main thing I was 1st attracted to. It is located in my hometown (Mawanella, Srilanka) so that I won’t have any traveling troubles. It is a learner-friendly as well as a worker-friendly environment. I've heard that being in the IT field is a bit stressful. But here, we were provided with a homely structure with a well-formed culture so that we could proudly call ourselves a family. The 94DEV team provides an equal, agile, and safe space for female employees as well, so that they could perform well. The company provides a monthly team outing (often a dinner or a lunch) and an annual trip to improve the inter-relationship of the team.

I can’t believe that 94DEV started only two years before. Though it is a startup it has developed much in these two years. 94DEV has initiated to help business enterprises achieve efficiency and effectiveness by taking them into the e-world, being partners in e-revolution. Since then, every day 94DEV has grown, evolved, and metamorphosed to the present gain in size as well as knowledge, attempting for greater heights.
I feel a great change in my attitudes and knowledge after being a part of 94DEV . The skills that I accomplished during my internship cannot be put into words. I am pretty sure that these days are some of my golden days and the experience that I gained would help me a lot in my future.
Thank you 94DEV for making my internship period a memorable one.
